Darcy Kuemper Dealt To Kings
10 months agoGoaltender Darcy Kuemper was dealt by the Washington Capitals to the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday. He was sent to L.A. in exchange for forward Pierre-Luc Dubois. Kuemper was ditched by the Capitals just two seasons after he was signed to a five-year, $26.25 million contract as a free agent. The 34-year-old, who helped the Colorado Avalanche win the Stanley Cup in 2022, had a decent debut campaign in Washington but suffered from a lack of form in 2023-24. Kuemper finished the season as a backup to Charlie Lindgren, posting a 13-14-3 record with a 3.31 goals-against average and a .890 save percentage. In Los Angeles, Kuemper faces a battle for playing time with David Rittich.
