Washington Capitals goaltender Darcy Kuemper is back between the pipes for Thursday's contest versus the hosting Florida Panthers. Charlie Lindgren started Tuesday's loss to the Montreal Canadiens but Kuemper relieved him after Lindgren surrendered three goals on nine first-period shots. Kuemper allowed two goals on 17 shots in the rest of the way in an eventual 5-2 defeat. It's been a tough season for the veteran who has posted a 3.19 goals-against average and an .892 save percentage across 25 games (23 starts), going 11-11-2 in the process. He will take on a Panthers team that ranks 14th with 3.16 goals per game on the season.--Brenton Kemp
