Dany Jimenez Strikes Out The Side Friday
2 years agoOakland Athletics relief pitcher Dany Jimenez (shoulder) pitched one inning in a minor league rehab outing for Triple-A Las Vegas on Friday and struck out the side without allowing a hit or a walk. Jimenez threw 16 pitches in his first minor league outing while he recovers from a right shoulder strain that put him on the injured list in late June. Before his injury, Jimenez was the team's primary closer in Oakland, so he should return to the ninth-inning role once he's ready. There's a chance he'll be reinstated from the injured list at some point this weekend. Before his injury, the 28-year-old had a 4.38 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, 11 saves and 23 strikeouts in 24 2/3 relief innings in 2022. Lou Trivino has been filling in as the A's closer with Jimenez out.
