Dany Jimenez Secures His Second Save Thursday
3 years agoOakland Athletics pitcher Dany Jimenez struck out two over a scoreless inning to secure the save in Thursday's 6-4 win over the Baltimore Orioles. In the ninth inning, he entered the game to protect a two-run lead and threw a perfect frame to notch his second save of the year. Oakland's primary closer Lou Trivino (illness), is currently on the COVID-19 injured list; Jimenez will get the first shot at saves while Trivino is out. The right-hander is 2-for-2 in save chances with a 1.00 WHIP and nine strikeouts over six scoreless innings in 2022. Jimenez is worth rostering in deep-league formats as he could pick up a few saves and provide fantasy managers with solid ratios.
