Dany Jimenez Notches Fifth Save Of Season Monday
3 years agoOakland Athletics relief pitcher Dany Jimenez picked up his fifth save of the season in Monday's 2-0 win over the Tigers. Jimenez entered the game to pitch the ninth inning with a two-run lead. He allowed a walk to start the inning, struck the next two hitters out, allowed another walk, and ended the game with a third punchout. The 28-year-old has yet to allow a run this season and has 14 strikeouts and five walks over 12 innings pitched. Jimenez began seeing save opportunities once Lou Trivino went on the COVID-19 injured list, so it will be interesting to see how they are divided up now that Trivino is back. The A's may not see that many save opportunities in general and Jimenez has out-pitched Trivino to this point, but both are worth a roster spot in deep roto leagues at this time.
