Dante Pettis Worth Consideration in Deeper Formats
6 years agoSan Francisco 49ers wide receiver Dante Pettis shined in his first career game, as the rookie hauled in two passes for 61 yards and one touchdown against one of the top defensive units in the league. There is plenty of reason for optimism, but Pettis’ fantasy value in Week 2 could depend on the health of Marquise Goodwin. If Goodwin is unable to play on Sunday, Pettis will be in line to start opposite Pierre Garcon, with Trent Taylor working in the slot. The 22-year-old is still an unknown so there is some risk in starting him, but he also offers big-play ability in an appealing offensive scheme. Pettis is worthy of flex consideration in deeper leagues if Goodwin doesn’t play on Sunday, otherwise he should be stashed on your bench for now.
