Dante Pettis Must Prove His Worth
5 years agoSan Francisco 49ers wide receiver Dante Pettis played just two snaps in Week 1 but should have a larger role Week 2 against the Cincinnati Bengals. Pettis missed practice last week from a lingering groin issue, but head coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed his lack of action wasn’t explicitly due to the injury. Coupled with the constant demand during preseason for Pettis to step up, the signs are ominous. Shanahan suggests Pettis will play more in Cincinnati, splitting time with rookie Deebo Samuel who led the team in snaps last week. Ideally, Pettis should be on fantasy benches but if necessary, he’s a shaky WR4.
