Dante Pettis Motivated For Bounce-Back Season
4 years agoSan Francisco 49ers wide receiver Dante Pettis recently acknowledged that last year was a tough year for him, capped off by his frustrations from being made inactive for the Super Bowl. Pettis said that he has made changes to his approach in order to be more of a difference maker for the team this year. Pettis was a second round pick of the 49ers in 2018 and showed some promising flashes as a rookie, but managed only 11 receptions for 109 yards last season as the team bulked up a bit at the wide receiver position. This year, the 49ers added a number of receivers including rookie Brandon Aiyuk and veterans JJ Nelson, Tavon Austin, and Jaron Brown. The team's presumed primary receiver Deebo Samuel (foot) is currently sidelined with a broken foot, opening an opportunity for someone to step in. Pettis will have his work cut out for him to earn regular playing time.
