Danny Jansen Activated From The Injured List
8 months agoThe Toronto Blue Jays announced on Monday that they activated catcher Danny Jansen (wrist) from the 10-day injured list and optioned catcher Brian Serven to the minors in a corresponding move. Despite being back with the Blue Jays, Jansen will start Monday's game against the visiting New York Yankees on the bench with Alejandro Kirk catching right-hander Chris Bassitt. The 29-year-old Jansen missed the opening of the 2024 season due to a small fracture in his right wrist that he suffered during spring training. He went 4-for-13 with a home run during his minor-league rehab assignment and can provide fantasy managers with some decent pop from the catching position now that he's healthy. If Kirk continues to struggle offensively, Jansen could become the primary backstop in Toronto.
