Danny Duffy Allows Two Runs Over Four Innings
3 years agoKansas City Royals starting pitcher Danny Duffy had trouble limiting baserunners in his start against the Minnesota Twins on Saturday. Duffy pitched four innings and allowed six hits, two walks and two earned runs while striking out two. The Royals have been very tentative about extending Duffy since his return from the injured list in late June. Saturday's outing was his longest since his return as he'd thrown a combined 6.1 innings over his previous three appearances, one of which came in relief. Duffy was fantastic to start the year before a forearm strain sidelined him for over a month. He has a 2.60 ERA and 1.23 WHIP over 11 appearances (10 starts) on the year. He's worth a roster spot in deep leagues if managers are able to be a bit patient with him. His next start will be on Thursday against the Cleveland Indians.
