Danny Coulombe, Twins Agree To One-Year Deal
4 mins agoFree-agent left-hander Danny Coulombe agreed to a one-year, $3 million deal on Tuesday with the Minnesota Twins, according to a source. The deal also includes incentives. Despite missing a good chunk of the 2024 campaign with the Baltimore Orioles due to bone chips that required surgery, Coulombe had a strong 2.12 ERA (2.83 FIP), a 0.67 WHIP, one save, 32 strikeouts and only five walks in 29 2/3 relief innings for the O's last season. In his two years in Baltimore, the 35-year-old veteran southpaw reliever held a sharp 2.56 ERA (2.83 FIP), a 0.95 WHIP, three saves and a 90:17 K:BB in 81 frames. Coulombe will bring a lefty presence as a late-inning setup man to a strong bullpen that already includes Griffin Jax, Cole Sands and Brock Stewart in front of lights-out closer Jhoan Duran.
