Daniel Vladar Wins First NHL Start With 34 Saves
4 years agoBoston Bruins goaltender Daniel Vladar had 34 saves in his first career start on Tuesday, helping the team beat Pittsburgh 2-1. David Pastrnak had a power-play goal and Trent Frederic delivered the victory in the third period. Vladar is the 20th Bruins goalie in history to win his first career regular-season start. Niklas Svedberg was the last one to do it in 2013-14. The 23-year-old Czech netminder got his chance with the team in a back-to-back situation and not having Tuukka Rask (undisclosed) available. Rask has been out since Mar. 7 but is close to a return, according to reports. The B's are back in action on Thursday against Buffalo.
