Daniel Suarez carried his momentum from the heat races on Saturday into the All-Star race on Sunday. Suarez won the first heat race on Saturday and captured the pole for the All-Star race. For the first time since 1996, the NASCAR Cup Series was racing at North Wilkesboro, and Suarez led the first laps. Actually, he led the first 55 laps of the race. On Lap 55, Kyle Larson was too much for Suarez to defend and he had to give up the lead. Suarez was still able to run in second place until Lap 96, when Bubba Wallace passed him. Suarez was passed late in the race by a few cars, but he still managed a seventh-place finish.--Eric DeWilde
