Daniel Suárez Short Track Woes Likely To Continue
1 year agoAlthough he had strong runs several times in the Bristol dirt race, Daniel Suárez has really struggled on paved short tracks for his entire Cup Series career. Excluding the Bristol dirt races, he has never finished better than seventh and has only led a career twelve laps on short tracks. While he did qualify second and led seven laps at this spring's Martinsville race, this year has been no exception. The Trackhouse cars seem to have really struggled on short tracks this year as even Ross Chastain has a below-average speed percentile, but Suárez's is even worse. He ranks only 25th in short track speed with a speed percentile of 39.28%. Coupling that with a 27th place starting position, even a top twenty finish may be a longshot for him.
