3 months agoDespite Daniel Suarez's subpar performances since his win at Atlanta, the win and playoff bid proved enough for Trackhouse Racing and they extended his contract for the 2025 season on Friday. Suarez has some real momentum in his corner after his marriage to Julia Piquet, his win in the NASCAR Brazil Series last week, and his contract extension. Although he's never led at Richmond in the NASCAR Cup Series or finished better than seventh, it's certainly possible he's on enough of an adrenaline high from his very productive Olympic break to elevate himself to a level beyond what he has shown in his recent performances, both this season and at Richmond throughout his entire career. His qualifying run of 21st was still commensurate with his recent short track performances, so a mediocre run seems more likely, but don't be surprised if his elevated mood helps motivate him.--Sean Wrona - RotoBaller
