Daniel Suarez Optimistic At Martinsville Despite Poor Track Record
2 years agoMartinsville Speedway hasn't been one of Daniel Suarez's favorite tracks during his NASCAR Cup Series career. Over 12 total starts at this track, Suarez owns a disappointing average finish of 22.5, making it one of his worst tracks on the schedule when it comes to that statistic. Additionally, over the last seven races here, Suarez has just one result better than 28th. However, that was a 12th-place finish in the fall Playoff race last season, which could be a sign that Suarez finally has this track figured out. When asked about it, Daniel remarked, "I think we can take what we learned in October and apply it this weekend. Martinsville is as tough of a track as any we visit. But my team has been working very hard and I think that work will pay off Sunday." He will start from 2nd in the NOCO 400 after posting a qualifying lap of 94.298 mph on Saturday.
