Daniel Poncedeleon Lasts Just Three Innings on Monday
5 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Daniel Poncedeleon only lasted three innings on Monday, running his pitch count all the way up to 86 despite only getting nine outs. He allowed just one run on three hits, but he did walk four and struck out three. Poncedeleon has been hard to hit for the most part, but he has shown control issues that have forced him into high pitch counts and prevented him from going deep into games. He could be replaced in the starting rotation if the Cardinals acquire outside help before the trade deadline. If he remains in the rotation, he'll head into his next start with a 2.82 ERA.
