Daniel Poncedeleon Has Mixed Results On Wednesday
4 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Daniel Poncedeleon, pitching in place of Miles Mikolas (arm), lasted just 3 2/3 innings on Wednesday against the Minnesota Twins. Poncedeleon allowed three runs on two hits and three walks, but he struck out eight. He proved to be hard to hit, but it took him 85 pitches (52 strikes) to get just 11 outs. Poncedeleon probably showed enough positive signs to get another chance when his turn comes back around, but he'll need to go deeper in the game next time to keep his rotation spot.
