Daniel Poncedeleon Does Well in His Season Debut
6 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Daniel Poncedeleon pitched well in his season debut on Tuesday. He tossed five innings, allowing just one run on two hits and three walks while striking out seven. Poncedeleon got the call into the rotation when Michael Wacha (knee) was placed on the injured list. Wacha is only expected to miss the one start, so Poncedeleon might have to head back to the minors until another member of the big league rotation gets hurt. He has nice upside and should be held onto in leagues with minor league or NA spots, but he won't have value in standard formats if he's in Triple-A.
