Daniel Pineda Makes Shocking Return To The Octagon
4 years agoDaniel Pineda could not have returned to the UFC with a bigger boom. After an unsuccessful run in the UFC that ended in 2014, Pineda earned a record of 8-2-2. His last two bouts were declared "no contest" for failing a drug test for contaminated substances after defeating two men on one night in the PFL tournament last year. Pineda did exactly what he needed to do and applied pressure to Burns. Pineda, who is also a BJJ black belt, utilized his skills to keep Burns grounded and ineffective. In the almost two full rounds of action, Pineda landed a stellar 173 strikes, with 57 listed as significant strikes. Is this a resurgence for Pineda late in his career, or did he just make his return in the right situation?
