7 years agoWashington Nationals second baseman Daniel Murphy (knee) has begun to hit balls off a tee, according to new manager Dave Martinez. The team is bringing Murphy back at a glacial pace as he recovers from debridement microfracture surgery he had back in October right after the season ended. Murphy has a history of injuries, so a slow recovery is best in the long run. With no timetable given for Murphy's return, Howie Kendrick and Wilmer Difo have gotten lots of repetitions in camp at second. Murphy has been stellar the last three years and continues to provide top-five value at his position when healthy.
