Daniel Murphy Could Head To Extended Spring Training Next Week
7 years agoWashington Nationals second baseman Daniel Murphy (knee) could be sent down to Florida for extended spring training to begin his rehab "in the next week or so," according to manager Dave Martinez. Murphy has been recovering from offseason microfracture surgery on his knee. He's been seen hitting in batting practice and doing light fielding drills, but nothing too strenuous. Murphy is in the final year of his contract and is one of baseball's best hitters. Owners who are nervous about his long-term results should wait until right before he returns to get maximum value in a fantasy trade.
