Daniel Hudson Progressing, Alex Reyes Not Throwing Off Mound
2 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher Daniel Hudson (ankle, knee) tore his left ACL last June but was expected to be fully recovered for the start of the 2023 season. However, he experienced right ankle tendinitis that set him back a few weeks. He's throwing bullpens in camp and is feeling healthy, but it's unclear if he'll be built up by Opening Day. Reliever Alex Reyes (shoulder) is still not throwing off a mound and isn't expected to until at least late March. But the right-hander has been throwing regularly as he recovers from a frayed labrum in his right shoulder, and the hope is that he can help the team by midseason. With no designated closer entering the 2023 season, Hudson could be firmly in the mix for the Dodgers if he's healthy. LA's other options include Evan Phillips, Alex Vesia and Brusdar Graterol.
