Daniel Hudson Might Not Be Ready For Opening Day
2 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher Daniel Hudson (ankle, knee) is progressing, but he might not be ready for Opening Day, according to manager Dave Roberts. Hudson has been throwing full-intensity bullpen sessions at spring training, but he's still nursing ankle tendinitis that he picked up while rehabbing from a torn left ACL that he suffered last June. The Dodgers aren't going to push the 35-year-old veteran right-hander to be ready at the end of March, but he could be ready to go in LA's bullpen at some point in early April. The Dodgers figure to go with a closer-by-committee situation to open the 2023 campaign, so Hudson should see save opportunities alongside the likes of Evan Phillips, Alex Vesia and potentially Brusdar Graterol.
