Daniel Hudson Expected To Be Available On Wednesday
3 years agoSan Diego Padres relief pitcher Daniel Hudson will be available out of the bullpen for Wednesday's game against the Miami Marlins, according to Padres manager Jayce Tingler. Hudson, who was acquired in a trade with the Washington Nationals prior to the trade deadline, has yet to make an appearance with his new team. He was placed on the COVID-19 injured list on the same day he was traded to the Padres. He has been going through protocols and he started throwing live batting practice sessions this week. With fellow reliever Drew Pomeranz (forearm) potentially heading to the injured list after exiting Tuesday's game, Hudson's timing couldn't be better. Hudson had a 2.20 ERA and a 0.92 WHIP over 31 appearances with the Nationals this year. He figures to be one of the Padres' top setup men going forward.
