Daniel Castano Shines In His Second Big League Start
4 years agoMiami Marlins rookie starting pitcher Daniel Castano was excellent in his second major league start on Saturday. The lefty tossed six innings, allowing one run on four hits and two walks. He struck out two and actually made it through six scoreless innings before Marlins manager Don Mattingly thought it would be a good idea to send him out for the seventh inning. The first batter Castano faced in the seventh, former Marlin Marcell Ozuna, hit a solo shot for the only run allowed by Castano. He's certainly earned another start, but he's a more real-life effective pitcher than he is a fantasy asset.
