Daniel Castano Gets Just One Out In Saturday's Start
4 years agoMiami Marlins rookie starting pitcher Daniel Castano started Game 1 of Saturday's double header but only got one out. His final line was 1/3 of an inning pitched, two runs on one hit and two walks allowed. Castano threw 10 strikes and 13 balls before Marlins manager Don Mattingly gave him the quick hook and went to the bullpen. Castano certainly earned a start after an excellent outing in his previous start, but this one combined with Mattingly's quick hook showed that Castano is likely to come out of the rotation once another COVID-19 Marlins returns. This was probably Castano's last big league start for a while.
