Daniel Carlson Should be Vikings Starting Kicker
6 years agoThe Minnesota Vikings were confident enough to spend a fifth-round pick on Auburn product Daniel Carlson in the 2018 NFL draft. So far at training camp, early returns on the guy many regarded as the best kicker in college football have been very good. He smoked a 57-yard kick straight through the middle of the uprights in the Vikings first preseason game against the Denver Broncos. During that game, he was 2-for-2 on field goals and 4-for-4 on extra points. Veteran Kai Forbath seems to be the odd-man out, although he should be able to find a role somewhere else. Regardless, Carlson has massive kicking power and pedigree. He should be one of the top fantasy kickers on a team that will be able to put up a lot of points.
