Daniel Berger is an Intriguing Pivot Play at Torrey Pines
3 years agoWhile Daniel Berger will not garner the same level of popularity of his similarly priced peers, the four-time PGA Tour winner is worthy of fantasy managers' consideration this week. Berger's ball-striking continues to be overlooked. Over his last 36 rounds, the Florida State product ranks 16th in strokes gained off the tee, 12th in strokes gained on approach, eighth in proximity from 200-plus yards and seventh in proximity from 175-200 yards. In fact, Berger is one of only two players in this entire field to rank inside the top 10 in both proximity from 175-200 yards and 200-plus yards. On a 7,685-yard course, Berger's elite middle and long iron play make him a great selection at Torrey Pines.
