Daniel Berger Has Limited Open Experience
6 years agoDaniel Berger will tee it up in just his third Open Championship this week. The young American had a missed cut in 2016 and a T27 last year. Carnoustie will present a more difficult challenge for Berger than he has faced in his two previous Open starts. The 25-year-old had an excellent U.S. Open, where he shared the 54-hole lead before finishing in a tie for sixth. Despite the nice finish at Shinnecock Hills, Berger has had a disappointing 2018 and has struggled to find consistency in his game. Berger ranks just 94th in scrambling and will have to improve that facet of his game if he hopes to contend at a difficult Carnoustie course. His $7,300 DraftKings price tag is reasonable, but his recent form makes him just a contrarian GPP option.
