Daniel Bard Notches Second Save Of Season Tuesday
3 years agoColorado Rockies relief pitcher Daniel Bard picked up his second save of the season in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Rangers. Bard entered the game to pitch the ninth inning up by three. He hit Adolis Garcia to start the inning, got Kole Calhoun to fly out, allowed a single, and then got the final two outs on a pop-out and a fly-out. The 36-year-old has seen half of the team's save opportunities so far and has converted two of three with a 3.00 ERA and four strikeouts. Bard had a poor 5.21 ERA in 2021, but he did collect 20 saves and appears to be the front-runner for them at this time. As such, he is worth a roster spot in roto leagues at least.
