Daniel Bard Dealing With Back Issue
3 years agoColorado Rockies relief pitcher Daniel Bard (back) has been dealing with a back issue, according to Rockies beat writer Danielle Allentuck. The reliever hasn't pitched since April 19 and the team turned to Alex Colome for the save in Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Detroit Tigers. Allentuck reported that Bard's back issue isn't believed to be anything serious. She also added that he could have been available on Sunday. However, the team deployed Carlos Estevez in the ninth inning to secure a 6-2 victory instead. Bard is currently 5-for-6 in save opportunities with a 3.00 ERA and a 0.83 WHIP. He should still be considered the team's primary closer for now.
