New Jersey Devils defenseman Damon Severson has been an under-the-radar performer at the start of the season, as he's failed to register any points just once in eight outings. He collected his fifth assist of the season in Saturday's 3-2 win over Florida, helping Kyle Palmieri start the scoring near the end of the opening frame. Severson has also potted two goals this season, so he's up to seven points in eight games with a plus-one rating and 13 shots. He's skating on the second pairing with the super experienced Andy Greene who's a defensive defenseman, so it a very good mix that allows Severson to contribute more offensively. He's also on the team's second power-play unit, and two of his points have come with the man advantage.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
