Damien Williams Sidelined For Week 9
Damien Williams (knee) has been ruled out for Monday's matchup vs. Pittsburgh. The loss of Williams coincides with the likely return of David Montgomery (knee), while Khalil Herbert stands to serve as RB2 against a stout Steelers defense. Williams enjoyed a two-week stretch in the sun while Montgomery was down, but after logging just four snaps last week -- and accruing -3 rushing yards on two carries -- he can remain firmly on the waiver wire in all season-long formats. His next opportunity to take the field comes after Chicago's bye week, when they face the Ravens in Week 11.

Damien Williams Questionable To Return Against Baltimore
Damien Williams (foot) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Ravens. The 31-year-old would finish with just five yards off two carries and four yards off one catch if he doesn't return. But with Emari Demercado the primary rusher out of the backfield, Williams' status for the remainder of Week 8 won't impact fantasy managers much.

Damien Williams Active Over Tony Jones Jr. In Week 6
Damien Williams is officially active for Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Rams. Meanwhile, fellow running back Tony Jones Jr. (coach's decision) is a healthy scratch. Although Williams, 31, will suit up, he'll merely fill a depth role behind Keaontay Ingram and Emari Demercado. Williams is not on the fantasy radar.

Damien Williams Elevated For Week 6
Damien Williams has been elevated from the practice squad to the active roster ahead of Sunday's game versus the Los Angeles Rams, per Adam Schefter of ESPN. His promotion comes on the heels of an injury to James Conner (knee) that left the Cardinals with a backfield of Keaontay Ingram, Emari Demercado, and Tony Jones Jr. The 31-year-old hasn't played meaningful snaps since 2021 and could end up being a healthy scratch on Sunday. Regardless of his status, Williams does not have fantasy appeal in any format.

Cardinals Sign Damien Williams To Practice Squad
Damien Williams to their practice squad on Thursday. The Cardinals are looking for some more running back depth with Keaontay Ingram currently dealing with a neck injury. Ingram was inactive for the Week 4 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, so rookie Emari Demercado was forced to serve as James Conner's backup. Williams played in only six games with the Atlanta Falcons in 2022 and had just two carries for two yards. His best season came in 2019 with the Chiefs when he had a career-high 111 rushing attempts for 498 yards and five touchdowns. The 31-year-old is a long shot to become fantasy relevant in the desert.
