Damian Lillard Explodes For 71 Points
2 years agoPortland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard made history in Sunday's matchup against the Rockets, becoming the eighth player in NBA history to score 70-plus points in a single game. He finished a 131-114 victory with 71 points on 22-for-38 shooting. The Portland superstar became the oldest player to achieve the feat and the first aged 30 or older. Lillard had 41 points with eight made three-pointers already by halftime and ended up shooting 13-for-22 from deep. Another make from outside would have put him tied for the most three-pointers made in a game. Lillard, whose previous scoring record stood at 61 points, added six rebounds and six assists in 39 minutes. The 32-year-old now has five career 60-point games, which puts him behind only Wilt Chamberlain (32) and Kobe Bryant (6) in NBA history.
