Curtis Samuel Sees Receiving And Rushing Usage In Week 8
2 years agoWashington Commanders wide receiver Curtis Samuel caught three-of-four targets for 50 yards along with four carries for 29 yards in Sunday's win over the Indianapolis Colts. In this matchup, the 26-year-old continued to receive work in the ground game, but he also had his lowest target total of the season. Samuel was still productive, but without his high volume of targets, he lacked the solid floor he usually has on a weekly basis. With fellow receiver Terry McLaurin finally receiving more targets while Taylor Heinicke quarterbacks this offense, the sixth-year receiver has lost some of the appeal he had early in the season. However, with his role in the run game continuing to increase, the possibility for a productive fantasy role is still there. Against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 9, Samuel will aim to continue capitalizing on his touches.
