Curtis Blaydes Hopes To Extend His Win Streak
2 years agoThe main event in Las Vegas this Saturday features a heavy-handed showdown between heavyweight contenders Curtis Blaydes (17-3) and Sergei Pavlovich. Blaydes' last fight against Tom Aspinall had an unfortunate ending, with Aspinall tearing his MCL in the opening seconds, but Blaydes looked great in his previous bout when he knocked out Chris Daukaus to claim the second Performance of the Night bonus of his career. DraftKings sees Blaydes as the favorite with a salary of $8,800. Throughout his UFC career (16 bouts), he averages 90.0 fantasy points per contest. If Blaydes wins this fight, he could be the next in line for a title shot.

Curtis Blaydes Unable To Secure Fourth Straight Win
2 years agoCurtis Blaydes' three-fight winning streak came to an end at UFC Vegas 71 on Saturday after he suffered a first-round TKO loss to Sergei Pavlovich. The two heavyweights came out swinging heavy leather from the get-go, but it was Pavlovich that had the clear speed advantage. Blaydes did land some good strikes from range, but Pavlovich's power was just different. Pavlovich initially hurt Blaydes with an overhand right that dropped him. Then he closed in for more. He wobbled Blaydes with a jab and followed with an uppercut and big combination that dropped Blaydes. Pavlovich landed a few more punches before the referee stepped in. In 3:08 of action, Blaydes landed 14 significant strikes. If Blaydes had won, he might have been the next in line for the title shot.

Curtis Blaydes Gets A First-Round Victory
3 years agoOccasionally injuries happen, but not typically in back-to-back main events. Once again, we had a main event end in the first round due to a freak injury on Saturday. This time, crowd favorite Tom Aspinall (knee) potentially tore his MCL just 15 seconds into his main-event matchup in London against Curtis Blaydes. The win on paper will go down as a first-round TKO victory for Blaydes, and it should keep him near the very top of the rankings, right there in title talks.
