Cubs Place Adbert Alzolay On 10-Day Injured List
3 years agoChicago Cubs starting pitcher Adbert Alzolay (hamstring) has been placed on the 10-day injured list. Alzolay suffered a left hamstring strain in yesterday's start. Alzolay struggled last night and went 1 1/3 innings and allowed five hits, six runs, one walk and struck out one. Alzolay has struggled in the second half and this will be his second time on the injured list this season. With Alzolay sidelined, pitching prospect Keegan Thompson could replace him in the rotation. Thompson was having a good season in the bullpen for the Cubs, but has been getting stretched out in Triple-A Iowa. Thompson has thrown 40 2/3 innings out of the bullpen for the Cubs with a respectable 2.21 ERA. Thompson is a better option in dynasty leagues, but those in redraft leagues should keep an eye on him.
