3 years agoChicago Cubs pitcher Alec Mills (back) has been activated from the 10-day injured list on Tuesday. Mills had been sidelined since May 16 with a lower back strain. Mills has worked mainly out of the bullpen this season, but has made one start in 12 appearances. Mills is 2-0 this season with a rough 5.96 ERA. With the news of starting pitcher Adbert Alzolay (blister) hitting the 10-day injured list on Tuesday, there is a chance that Mills could make some starts. Mills would face the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday if he were to replace Alzolay in the rotation and can be avoided in all formats for now. Relief pitcher Cory Abbott was optioned to Triple-A Iowa to make room for Mills.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
