Cubs Acquire Josh Roberson From Rays
1 year agoThe Chicago Cubs have acquired right-handed reliever Josh Roberson from the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for right-handed pitchers Adrian Sampson and Manuel Rodriguez, as well as an undisclosed amount of international signing bonus pool space. Roberson, 27, has yet to make his MLB debut but looks effective at the Triple-A level, amassing a 3.65 FIP, 10.75 K/9, and 4.0 HR/FB%. Walks have been an issue for the former Marlins 12th-round pick, but on a positive note, he has induced weak contact with a 41.1 GB%. Roberson will likely report to Triple-A Iowa but could be one of the first players summoned to the majors when an injury or trade occurs. With that said, he's not on the fantasy radar.
