Cubs Acquire Josh Osich From Red Sox
4 years agoThe Chicago Cubs didn’t add just one left-handed reliever at the Trade Deadline, they got two. With left-hander Josh Osich joining the mix in a deal with the Boston Red Sox, the Cubs will now be able to put Osich and Andrew Chafin alongside Kyle Ryan for a triumvirate of southpaws that the team hopes to utilize into October. Osich has amassed 20 strikeouts in 15 ⅓ frames this season, but has allowed six home runs in that span, in addition to owning a career 4.95 ERA. He is a non-entity in fantasy at this stage, although his presence should further bolster the Cubs’ bullpen which enters play Monday with a 5.42 ERA, the fifth-lowest mark in the Majors.
