Craig Kimbrel Takes First Blown Save Of Season
1 year agoPhiladelphia Phillies relief pitcher Craig Kimbrel finally faltered on Sunday, taking the blown save in what ended up being an 8-5 win over the Cleveland Guardians. Kimbrel allowed two hits, including a game-tying homer to David Fry, while striking out one in his inning of work. The veteran closer has been superb since June 11, going 16 consecutive innings without allowing a run until today. He is now 16-for-17 in save opportunities to go along with a 3.29 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, and 61 strikeouts in 41 IP. When he is at the top of his game like he currently looks to be, he is a top-tier closing option in fantasy.
