Craig Kimbrel Picks Up 350th Career Save
4 years agoChicago Cubs closer Craig Kimbrel picked up his second save of the season on Thursday against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Kimbrel came in with one out and the bases loaded in the bottom eighth and struck out both batters he faced. Kimbrel then went 1-2-3 in the bottom of the ninth with two pop-ups and a strikeout to secure the save. The former All-Star has looked excellent in four appearances this year and has not allowed a run in 4 2/3 innings and has nine strikeouts with zero walks. Kimbrel has looked excellent this season and managers should be satisfied deploying him as their closer in all formats.
