Cowboys Won't Rule Out Mike McCarthy Extension
41 mins agoDallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told 105.3 The Fan that he wouldn't rule out giving a contract extension to head coach Mike McCarthy. "I don't think [an extension] is crazy at all," Jones said. "This is a Super Bowl-winning coach. Mike McCarthy has been there and done that. He has great ideas. We got a lot of football left." Jones' comments seem to differ from the general feeling around the NFL that McCarthy is very much on the hot seat. The Cowboys are 4-7 this year and, although they won last Sunday, could end up limping to the finish line with Cooper Rush under center. McCarthy owns a 42-36 record through nearly five years in Dallas. His team has made three playoff appearances, including two Wild Card losses and a Divisional Round loss. He hasn't made a Conference Championship since 2016 with the Green Bay Packers.
