Cowboys Restructuring Dak Prescott's Contract
3 years agoThe Dallas Cowboys are doing some minor restructuring of their contracts for quarterback Dak Prescott and guard Zack Martin. The moves are being made to clear $23 million in cap space and allow for the team to franchise tag tight end Dalton Schultz. The Cowboys are adding two voidable years to Martin's contract. Prescott, meanwhile, signed a $160 million contract last spring and the contract had some "flip of a switch'' terms to it, according to Mike Fisher of Sports Illustrated. These terms were included in the contract to help give the Cowboys flexibility to extend their cap space when needed. Nothing much to see here, just some front office maneuvering. The good news on the day for Prescott is that his starting tight end is locked up for next year.
