Could Austin Hill Be A Sneaky Daytona Value Pick?
7 months agoXfinity Series regular Austin Hill will start 23rd in this week's Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway in a third Richard Childress Racing entry. This is the best starting position in the Cup Series at Daytona for Hill, who is making just his second start at the site. In his only Cup start for Beard Motorsports in 2024, Hill started 26th and finished 14th, collecting positive Place Differential in the process. In seven Xfinity Series starts at Daytona, Hill has three wins and led multiple laps in five total races at the site. In three races on a part-time schedule this year, Hill has two finishes with positive PD and a best finish of 31st. Based on his equipment and Xfinity history at Daytona, Hill is one of the better value options for DFS this week.

Austin Hill Not Carrying Much Speed At Kansas
10 months agoAustin Hill had a rough Saturday in the Richard Childress Racing Chevy. Hill qualified 34th overall for Sunday afternoon's race in Kansas. It did not help that the No. 33 car had all sorts of issues coming out of the turns. Furthermore, turning in 31+ second laps during practice will not get it done on this track. At least in qualifying, Hill managed a lap of 30.392 seconds. It was a marked improvement but still 0.901 seconds off from Christopher Bell's pole lap. Hill also qualified 34th at Texas and some of the same issues persisted. Sunday could see Hill slow down again.

Austin Hill Makes First Cup Series Start of 2024
11 months agoAustin Hill has finished in the top ten in his last four Texas Motor Speedway starts in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and led 25 laps in this weekend's event on an alternate pit sequence, but he probably won't replicate that feat in Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series event. Hill will be making his first Cup start of 2024 for Richard Childress Racing, which certainly has faster cars than Beard Motorsports did last year, but he was assigned crew chief Keith Rodden, who was just fired from his teammate Austin Dillon's team after a season of underachievement. Both Dillon and Kyle Busch posted mediocre top speeds in practice and Busch will be going to a backup car after crashing in practice, which means that not only do they seem to lack speed but their focus will likely be elsewhere. Keep your expectations low for Austin Hill in his season debut this weekend.

Austin Hill Hoping For Better Result At Daytona Saturday Night
2 years agoAustin Hill will be making his fourth start of the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season on Saturday night in the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway. He will be piloting the No. 62 Chevrolet for Beard Motorsports, an organization that typically only races at superspeedway tracks such as Daytona. Hill has made three other starts in this car this season, coming home 24th at Talladega, 37th at Atlanta, and 28th at Michigan. Hill will be looking to just get a decent finish this weekend and will start from 26th-place when the race goes green on Saturday night. In the Xfinity Series race on Friday night, Hill was the favorite to win but got caught up in a wreck and ended up finishing in 23rd-place.

Austin Hill Pulling Double Duty At Talladega This Weekend
2 years agoAustin Hill will be pulling double duty at Talladega Superspeedway this weekend, as he will be racing in the Ag-Pro 300 Xfinity Series race on Saturday as well as the GEICO 500 Cup Series race on Sunday. Hill will be driving the #62 Chevrolet for Beard Motorsports in Sunday's Cup Series event. This will be Austin's second-ever Cup Series start. He raced the #33 Chevrolet for Richard Childress Racing at Michigan last season, coming home in 18th after starting back in 31st. Hill has found plenty of success on superspeedway race tracks in the Xfinity Series, so it will be interesting to see how that translates to the Cup race on Sunday. Over the last eight superspeedway races in the Xfinity Series, Hill has led 410 of the 1,098 laps (37.3%). He has won four of those eight races.
