Cory Schneider Out For Season Opener
6 years agoNew Jersey Devils goaltender Cory Schneider (lower body) won't play in the team's season opener against Edmonton on Saturday. He didn't participate in any of the team's preseason games and looks to still need more time to recover from a left hip surgery that he had done back in May. The injury carries a 5-6 month recovery period, so it shouldn't take too long until he's ready to play, but after struggling for the whole of 2017-18, the Devils are giving Schneider all the time he needs to get 100 percent healthy. Eddie Lack will serve as the backup for Keith Kinkaid on Saturday.
