Cory Gearrin Could See Save Opportunities
6 years agoTexas Rangers relief pitcher Cory Gearrin has been carving out a nice role with the Rangers since being acquired from the San Francisco Giants. Gearrin has been working in Rangers victories, with seven of his previous eight outings coming in games that the Rangers went on to win. Since coming to the Rangers, Gearrin has a 2.93 ERA with 10 strikeouts in 15 1/3 innings. If Gearrin continues producing good results then he could find himself closing games before the season ends. The Rangers may be motivated to let him close games as that would increase his trade value ahead of his walk year in 2019. In deeper leagues Gearrin makes for a good speculative add if you are looking for saves.
