According to Shawn McFarland of the Dallas Morning News, Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager (hip) and outfielder Evan Carter (back) are expected to be fully healthy heading into spring training. Seager underwent sports hernia surgery during the fall and has been able to perform baseball activities in December. Before cutting his season short, Seager held a strong .278/.353/.512 line with 30 home runs and 21 doubles. Carter was shut down last May due to a back injury. McFarland noted that the young outfielder played through this pain during the early part of the season. His injury hindered his performance as he held an underwhelming .188/.272/.361 line through 46 contests. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor their status during spring training, but seeing them progress at this stage of the offseason is a great sign. Both players are key components of the Texas lineup as they hope to return to the postseason in 2025.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

The Texas Rangers officially placed shortstop Corey Seager (hamstring) back on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday with a right-hamstring strain and reinstated catcher Kyle Higashioka (intercostal) from the 10-day IL in a corresponding move. This will be the second time this year already that Seager has been on the IL with his hamstring injury. The 31-year-old two-time World Series MVP missed two games last week before returning on Saturday to hit two home runs, but he felt more hamstring tightness and was held out another two games on Sunday and Monday. This time around, he could miss more time as Seager looks to put the injury in the past for good. Seager should be stashed in all fantasy formats while he recovers. Josh Smith (back) should be the primary option at the 6 in the meantime, although he also missed Monday's game. Ezequiel Duran has made starts at short each of the last two games.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

DLLS Sports' Jeff Wilson writes that it appears likely that Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager (hamstring) will go back on the 10-day injured list, with catcher Kyle Higashioka (ribs) likely returning from the IL in a corresponding move. Seager is missing another game in Monday's series opener against the visiting Colorado Rockies after sitting out Sunday's contest with more hamstring tightness. This would be the 31-year-old's second trip to the IL already in 2025 with hamstring issues. He missed two straight games on Thursday and Friday before returning on Saturday to hit two home runs, but Seager was removed from the lineup on Sunday with more right-hamstring tightness. Ezequiel Duran is starting at the 6 again on Monday and is hitting ninth against Rockies rookie right-hander Chase Dollander. Duran and Josh Smith should share shortstop duties if Seager goes back on the IL.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

According to the Dallas Morning News' Evan Grant, the Texas Rangers will have shortstop Corey Seager (hamstring) re-evaluated on Monday after his balky hamstring got tight on his swings in the 10-5 victory over the Detroit Tigers on Saturday night. Seager missed Thursday and Friday due to his ongoing hamstring issue, but he returned on Saturday to go 3-for-4 with two home runs, a double and three RBI, making this even more frustrating for his fantasy managers. Seager is out of the lineup for the series finale against the Tigers on Sunday and probably won't be able to play in Monday's series opener against the Colorado Rockies, either. Having already gone on the injured list with a hamstring injury this year, it wouldn't be a surprise to see him headed back to the IL. Josh Smith would most likely pick up most of the starts at the 6 if Seager goes back on the shelf.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager is not in the team's starting lineup for Sunday's series finale in Detroit against the Tigers at Comerica Park. Ezequiel Duran will start at the 6 and hit ninth for the Rangers against Tigers right-hander Reese Olson. Seager missed Thursday and Friday due to a minor right-hamstring injury, but he returned with a bang on Saturday against Detroit, going 3-for-4 with two home runs, a double and three RBI in the 10-5 win. The Rangers appear to be playing things safe with the 31-year-old veteran on Sunday, and he should be back in there for Monday's series opener against the Colorado Rockies. Duran makes for a very low-upside DFS play in the nine-hole for the Rangers for Sunday's slate of action. The 25-year-old Dominican has just one hit in his 16 at-bats this season and has one hit in his four career at-bats against Olson.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
