Corey Perry Scores Overtime Winner In Game 5
4 years agoDallas Stars forward Corey Perry recorded a two-goal performance in Saturday's 3-2 overtime victory in Game 5 of the 2020 Stanley Cup Finals against the Lightning. The 35-year-old opened the scoring in the first period and posted his second goal of the contest at the best time, helping the Stars fight off elimination for the first time in the series. Stars forwards Joe Pavelski, one goal, and Tyler Seguin, three assists, each contributed with offensive production to go along with 39 saves from goaltender Anton Khudobin. Lightning forward Ondrej Palat and defenseman Mikhail Sergachev each scored a goal in the loss, while goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped 30-of-33 shots on goal. Game 6 of the 2020 Stanley Cup Finals in Edmonton will take place on Monday, and a potential Game 7 matchup would be played on Wednesday, September 30.
